Simon Francois, roving and moving design
|Experience||Graphic designer specialized in motion graphics and interface design, exploring the possibilities of motion design through new medias’ manifolds.|
My years working in Amsterdam have sharpened my inclination for playful and toolbox-like graphic design productions, drawing on new medias’ possibilities to come into life.
By specializing progressively in motion design, my overall practice of graphic and corporate design has grown toward more evolutive projects, yet visually systematized, but using inherent traits of animation. More than just an isolated specialization, motion has become the core of my reflexion on visual output, even when it comes to design still images: they always embody latent moving possibilities.
I’m now always aiming to feed that core and to bring it constantly in the center of the design process, as thinking forms in movement has been so far a fruitful way of generating graphic design solutions.
It indeed provides a great push in the sketching process, producing along the way fertile renderings that force to consider graphic design in multiple situations, making it not only a visual sign, but an object and a space as well. That triple status given by that very simple temporal dimension still fascinate me.
