I am applying for the position of production assistant and I am very excited about the possibility of working for Brownbag Films.
I have recently earned my master’s degree in Multimedia from DCU. I have a wide range of design experience in film, photography, animation and architecture. I am proficient in a number of Adobe design software programs (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition) Since finishing, I have managed to secure valuable, live film
production experience, notably three episodes from Russell Brand’s podcast.
From my time spent as an architect in both training and practice, I have years of experience in devising and pitching projects from the conceptual stages all the way through to completion, in a way that meets a client’s needs while also maintaining industry standards. I consider myself to be a diligent, creative worker who is motivated by challenges and can gain personal growth from this type of role and I hope my resumé provides the information you need in support of my application.

Experience | White | Dublin Fringe Festival - Audio Technician, Videographer September 2018 ‘White’ is a play that was performed during the Dublin Fringe Festival. It was my responsibility to set up and test audio and stationary camera equipment beforehand. Additional challenges included consulting with the stage co-ordinator to ensure that we could set everything up successfully within the tight space allocated to us, while not breaching any fire safety and accessibility regulations. Under The Skin with Russell Brand - Videographer August 2018 I got the opportunity to film a live episode from Russell Brand’s podcast series and was subsequently invited back to do two more, where he interviewed guests Blindboy Boatclub, Radhanath Swami and the Happy Pear twins in front of a live audience. Responsibilities included co-ordinating with Brand’s tour manager and both venues’ in-house stage managers and audio technicians, ensuring that the stationary camera and B-roll cameras were ready to go, and lastly, manning the B-roll cameras and maintaining consistant focus and framing throughout the lively stand-up comedy routines and guest interviews. 2017 Trevelyan’s Pack & Cool (New Zealand) Manual Labour 2016 - 2017 Amazon UK Technical Support, Online Retail Support 2016 - 2017 Independent Client Freelance Architect (Part Time) 2015 - 2016 O’Connell Mahon Architects Architect’s Assistant |

Speciality | I come from an architecture background and I have just completed a master's degree in Multimedia which entails animation, photography, video production, digital audio & sound design, web design. From my time spent as an architect in both training and practice, I have years of experience in devising and pitching projects from the conceptual stages all the way through to completion, in a way that meets a client’s needs while also maintaining industry standards. This past work prepares me for the type of role advertised in that there was lots of cross communication between departments, document and data upkeep and organisation. In my short time producing animation, I produced two stop-motion animation shorts ('What Goes Around, Comes Around' & 'Norman's Nightmare') that can be found on my Béhance profile: https://www.behance.net/aonghusqui2ddd. Although the actual animating of the characters was rudimentary, I took the plunge and tackled the following: green screen animation, set design and construction, difficult lighting design, storyboarding and camera angles. I was also forced to come up with countless creative solutions in the pre-production and production stages. In my opinion, I went above and beyond what was expected of me in a course that does not focus entirely on animation and my grades, though not important in the real world, reflect that. |
I have experience using cameras (both video & still image), lighting equipment, audio equipment. | |
