Love Final Cut Pro X. Haven't used Motion as much in the current version (I've used After Effects more), but I use it enough to pick up fast.

Second Script
by Christopher Rotter
I was unsuccessful in finding someone who knows the SDK to program a Ps script that opens up a browser window. Instead I'm going to with an alternative way that lives outside of Ps.

You may be able to help me with another script. The script is more then 70% complete. The script task is to save layer groups, the only thing missing is to include a layer that lives within the layer group or outside of the layer group.

Not real sure what help I will be (I don't think I've helped at all at this point), but if I can, I will.

Can I send you the script, and explain the problem once again and hopefully you can help solve it. It's all due to my newbie knowledge in scripting that has kept this script from being complete, but it will help, in my one man team productive workflow.

Due to the lack of my scripting knowledge, I'm not getting any help because people think I want it done for me, when it may come across like this, but I want to understand how the heck it comes together. At this point I know some JS Syntax, but putting it together baffles me.

Have you heard of AutoHotKey ? Someone in that forum, although without some fuss, (I'm not great with coding, only know some of the syntax at this point) created a script for me. If you install the program, I can send you the script, and when you run it, you'll understand exactly what I mean. I really, really want to get this mini program/script created. I hope someone can come along who has some time to make this a reality.

Have you tried on the Photoshop forums? There will be way more people on Adobe's forums that can help with this. Creative Cow is mostly video-oriented.

Great place to start: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/photoshop/scripting.html

and this: http://forums.adobe.com/community/photoshop/

Photoshop, having been around for a long time, is pretty robust with the scripting and kinds of things you can do in the app and what you can extend it with. You'll have far better luck on Adobe's site.

As far as I know, you'll need to script something externally - in other words you'd have to make an outside call to an outside executable, Javascript, etc. The browser isn't normally included in PS code, but you can call to the browser from inside PS, run your plugin, then return results to PS. Also, I don't think you can script that, you will need to create a plugin to hook into PS since the hooks don't exist (a plugin allows you to create the functions NOT already included in PS).

This is, unfortunately, a bit beyond my expertise and you'll want a copy of the PS developer's guide that will explain where the hooks for PS are. I'd like to see an example, tho.

If anyone else reading this knows, specifically, how to create this in PS, please chime in as my scripting experience isn't as advanced as the questions being asked! ;)

Browser window in Ps ?
by Christopher Rotter
Jonathan, is it possible to script a browser window, in Ps ? I mean literally a script that will call up a browser window, without the typical browser border (forward, back etc all removed) that is the only way I know how to create this Ps productivity tool. Must you use Ps scripting or can you create a tool using Javascript commands, but create it so it can be only used in Ps ?

I do have a actual example, using another software, if you want I can show you ?

I have two scripts that I'd like to hopefully finish them off. I was informed that photoshop scripting, can't do this. Do you have configurator installed, it would make it easier for me to explain ?

Re: Electric Tiger Productions

Hi there, sorry its taken me so long to get back. I've been busy which is both good and kinda annoying. ;)

I won't guarantee an answer, but go ahead and shoot. I'm not really good with configurator.
