James Smith- Final Cut Pro Editor
|Experience||I am an experienced editor and have a passion for storytelling. Whether it's working on high end corporate films for clients such as UBS, Aviva and Barclays, cutting web promos for the BBC, documentaries for hit TV shows like Spooks and Ashes to Ashes or independent feature films, I always strive to produce the best product possible. |
I have been working in the TV, film and media industry for 8 years and have 6 years of Final Cut Pro Experience.
I have worked at production, events and DVD company Cheerful Scout for seven years, spending the last four years as the company’s sole in-house FCP editor. I was responsible for the capture, edit and delivery of a wide range of films, and have worked on numerous corporate videos, DVD extras, showreels, and trailers.
At Cheerful Scout I was responsible for managing four broadcast edit suites, with regards to staff, freelancers and media management. I also worked with clients, producers and directors closely and have excellent communication skills.
I have often had to work under extreme pressure as many of the films I have edited have been for large events with deadlines that cannot be moved. I am calm, motivated and organised, and have been willing to work unsociable hours to help deliver the best product possible.
As well as working at Cheerful Scout I have also had the pleasure of editing two feature films. The first 'Jesus The Curry King' gained nationwide release in 2002 and the second 'Beheading Buddha' is in it's final stages of post production. Watch this space!
