ExperienceJD’s experience stems from the post-production world as an editor and post-producer, with work primarily focused in documentaries.

In 2008 he shot, edited, and co-directed an hour-long documentary called After the Storm: Lessons from the Northern Edge. That film chronicled the tensions between federal regulation and the safety of fishermen after a 2004 sinking. It premiered on PBS Rhode Island in September 2008.

Also in 2008, he produced and edited a short narrative film titled Henry about a pianist who has to make a choice between a failing music career and his estranged son. That film has shown at film festivals around the country, including its premiere at the Dam Short Film Festival in February 2009.

From 2008 to 2011 JD worked as an in-house post producer for Postworks NY, helping to produce and finish hundreds of projects that included commercial, television, and feature work. During that time he also shot and edited a range of commercial and independent projects.

Currently, JD is editing and co-producing a feature documentary for Hungry Films Inc. ( about the modern erosion of crop diversity and its devastating impact on our global food supply.

JD is a B.F.A. graduate of Emerson College and lives in New York City with his wife. He is also an avid runner and a finisher of the 2011 ING New York City Marathon.
